The Council is composed of the Board and up to 24 other members, who are elected by the General Meeting for a period of four years. In addition, two representatives of the associations of early-career researchers take part in the Council meetings in an advisory capacity. The Council convenes the general meetings, elects the members, awards the dissertation prizes and determines the Society's work programme.
